Emily Bett Rickards is a Canadian born actress. Her fame was primarily in the United States for her character Felicity Smoak, portrayed by The CW series Arrow. Rickards is a British Columbia native. She began her acting career in the early years of her life by learning about musical theatre, dancing as well as other types of entertainment. Her high school graduation was before the age of 18, and then attended Vancouver Film School, completing the Acting Essentials Course. Following the completion of the course it was time to attend an audition open to the public and was able to get her an agent. Alida Vocal Studio is located in Vancouver. Originally, she was signed as a one-episode guest on the show, her relationship with the show's star Stephen Amell coupled with positive reactions from fans as well as her humorous quips resulted in her first signing as a recurring co-star in all of the remaining episodes of the season. She was then signed as a regular character for the second season.
