April Ross

April Ross was one of only a few women beach volleyball athletes who earned medals in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join her at Tokyo. Ross also hopes to get her first Olympic medal. As she is 39 she could have her last chance. However, she's confident that winning the gold medal is in reach. If we do our highest or play well I feel like we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross stated on NBC Boston. Then I will also take some luck. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a sister. In addition to playing in numerous sports, Ross was also a student at Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track, in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements in her time as a college athlete. However, she was a standout during this game. Through her high school years, she played middle blocker, outside setter and hitter at the tennis court as per her bio at the college. For her efforts she was named in 1999 as the Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. Her volleyball skills also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Even though Ross Klineman and Ross are a couple from 2017 onward, the former was already a big-time player on the beach scene prior to their team. It's true that she's had numerous big wins and one of them was a renowned volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 to the year 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Kessy's teammate Ross, who was the winner of the world championship with Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the an international level. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they won a gold medal. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold overtaking them. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement after she had retired. The duo were able to win bronze in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. In high school and the many years before hitting the sand professionally, Ross was a ball to the Trojans at USC while a collegiate. It was a successful performance for Ross during her time at the school. She was a All-American as well as Pac-10 Freshman of Year when she was a teen freshman. The Trojans also reached the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss in her sophomore, but was still able to achieve the All-American award. The last two years as a member of the Trojans' program they won success by winning two consecutive national championships. She was a great volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross, a USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the chance to watch her daughter grow into an international beach volleyball star. When Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother died of breast cancer. But she still keeps her parents close to her heart. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, continues to inspire her.
