April Ross
April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball players to have won medals more than once at an Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, who is a first time Olympian. Ross is determined to earn more than her first Olympic medal. As she is 39, it may be her last chance. However, she's confident that winning the gold medal is within reach. Ross was reported by NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very highest, and even play well we will get the gold. Additionally, I'm going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross born the 22, 1982, at Costa Mesa California. She resided there along with her entire family. The athletic pursuits she pursued began at Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several activities. When she was a student in the prep school, she competed in indoor volleyball along with basketball and track. Though she excelled at indoor volleyball but it was apparent that her skills were above the average. In her college profile, she was an outside-hitting hitter, middle blocker, and setter during her volleyball career at high school. The results of her efforts were acknowledged when she was named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Players of the Year. Her volleyball skills also earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Ross and Klineman began their partnership in 2017, however, Ross was a beach scene player for years prior to. It's true that she has had the chance to win numerous tournaments, including one with a legendary volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 until the year 2013. Also, she coached Klineman as well as herself. Together with Kessy Ross was an ace in the world circuit, winning the world championship in 2009. They eventually won a silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor won gold, overtaking them. It was fate that had them. Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball medal at the Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college prior to becoming a professional. Ross's Trojans experience was impressive. When she was a freshman in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans to make it to into the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss during her sophomore year however she was able to return in the ranks of an All-American. In her last two years in the Trojans team, she led the Trojans to winning a national title every year. The achievements of each individual have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross studied at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross did not get to watch her daughter's rise to the beach volleyball spotlight. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001 when Ross was still an USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. As a result, Ross continues to be close to her deceased parent. Margie, on the beach as well as in her everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
