April Ross

April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is among the few female players of beach volleyball who have achieved this feat. She will be competing in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. Ross is determined to earn more than her initial Olympic medal. And at the age of 39, this could be her final chance to do so. However, she's confident that winning the gold medal is in reach. Ross said on NBC Boston: "If we try our best, and even playing well I'm sure we'll win the gold medal." Then I will also take the chance to have chance. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a her sister. The athletic pursuits she pursued began at Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of sports. As a prep-athlete she was also a participant in indoor volleyball and track. She stood out however in this sport. In her own biography her high school days, she played volleyball as an outside setter (middle blocker) and setting (outside blocker). She was named by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 for her achievements. In 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman started their relationship in 2017 but Ross has been a beach celebrity for a long time prior to. It's true that she has been able to win multiple events, and one was won by a legendary volleyball player. Between 2007 and 2013 she was in a partnership by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Kessy and Ross were a formidable force in the international arena, taking home the world championship in 2009 together. They won a Silver Medal in the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were beaten out for the gold medal by the legendary group comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). As fate would have it Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. In 2016, the pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a player for the Trojans of USC in her college after graduating from in high school. Her time at USC was awe-inspiring. Her freshman year in 2000 saw her earn the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the Award and also be named an All-American. Her Trojans also reached the Final Four. She endured a great personal loss in her sophomore, but was still able to achieve the All-American title. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans up to the summit and clinched consecutive national championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player on the collegiate scene in the United States through The Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student of international relations at USC. Margie Ross was not able to see Ross become the highest beach volleyball level. In 2001 when Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother died of breast cancer. As a result, Ross is still close to her parent who died. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, inspires her.
