Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 children from a poor family kids who would grow with them eventually. She learned early how to get out of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly vibrant imagination. She was writing songs before she learned to write or read. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eighteen. She started singing at the Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. In the same year, she released her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. The singer established a name for herself locally while still at high school, but always dreamed of having a bigger stage. On the 14th of March, 1964, following her graduation from high-school her family moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums from Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist to join his syndicated show from the beginning. Parton took the job in the year 1966. She was signed to RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. Then, in 1974, she left Wagoner's show due to the commercial success of her singles like Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it climbed to No. The first time it made it to No. 1 was 1974.
