Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th of 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life through her vivid and broad imagination. Before learning how to read and write Dolly Parton was composing her own music. After getting her first instrument at age of 8, she began to perform at radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. The same year she released her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Although she was at school, she already made a name of herself in the local music scene. But her dream was to be able to perform at a much larger size. When she was graduating in 1964, she moved to Nashville. The first charting record she had for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner began looking for female singers to join his television show that was syndicated approximately the same at the same time. Parton joined RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's band because the popularity of her own solo records such as Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene was outstripping their joint efforts. Parton's hit song, I'll Never Love You (for Wagoner), reached the number. number 1 position after the duo split. Its first appearance at No. 1 was 1974.
