Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with 12 other children. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the pressures of daily life. Before she could write or read she wrote her own music. In 8 years, she was playing her first guitar. In the age of 11 when she was 11, she began singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. Gold Band Records is a small, independent label. While in high school, she established herself in the school community but her dream was greater. In the exact day that she was able to graduate from high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted on Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his syndicated television show. Parton was hired in 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. It was not until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's band because the popularity of her solo albums such as Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" to Wagoner soon after their split. The song reached number. The first time it reached No. 1 was 1974.
